Cybil's History

I began my journey 15 years ago upon moving to Summit County after college, not sure where my path would lead me.  Being an athlete all of my life I was well aware of the aches and pains that go along with training and performing and was quite intrigued with body work (massage, rolfing, cranial work, etc.) and decided on massage therapy.  I focused my studies on sports and orthopedic massage and practiced in Summit County for six years on many professsional, amateur, and weekend atheletes.  I enjoyed working races and helping athletes during their training and recovery as well as the "weekend warrior" that was beat up by repetative actions at work or play.  I also have worked with many people pre- and post surgery to help them prepare and become strong before and recover after by reducing swelling, pain and compensation pains.  As the years passed I was craving more information and explored many avenues from Osteopathic medicine to Oriental medicine.

I was drawn to Oriental medicine after receiving treatments for migranes, amazed that such a non-invasive treatment could cure me of my headaches.  At the core of its theory is this belief that with the right nudges the body can heal itself - that if we consider the person as a whole and balance their energy with rather non-invasive measures the body will mend itself!  It fell right into my belief system as I never had to take drugs for my headaches and have not had a recurrence to this day.  So after 3 years of school I returned to Summit County to offer my skills and knowledge to my community.  Still focused on sports medicine and building on my massage background, I have continued my studies with a few renowned practitioners in sports medicine (Whitfield Reeves and Matt Callison) and Japanese style acupuncture (Miki Shima and Michael Young).
